Description:
Merrimack Education Center would like to help recognize the hard work
and dedication of the many technicians in our customer school
districts. Again we are proud to present the “Educational Technician of
the Year Award”. This award is designed to highlight the talents and
initiatives of the many district technicians and to spot light the one
individual who exhibits outstanding qualities that sets them apart.
Eligibility:
Professional technologists in the education industry whose technology
achievement(s) was accomplished or culminated in the current school
year are eligible for nomination.
Nomination Process:
Each district’s Technology Director and/or Superintendent may nominate
an individual or team candidate from their district for the award,
either on their own or by some other appropriate selection mechanism.
Nominations are to be submitted by the district’s Technology Director
and/or Superintendent (or similar function) to the MEC Technology Award
Review Committee no later than May 1st using the nomination form.
The award winner selected by the MEC Review Committee will
receive a commemorative plaque, a cash award, and an invitation to
attend the recognition event.
Qualifications:
A qualifying candidate is one who demonstrates outstanding qualities in
customer relations and responsiveness (not under their control), and
applies advanced technical knowledge and/or innovative solutions to
promote the appropriate use of educational technologies and their
district’s technology goals.
Nominations should describe the following:
- How
does the noted accomplishment(s) contribute to the districts overall
technology advancement, technology integration into the classroom, and
the district’s population at large?
- How does the nominee provide customer service to his/her district?
- What advanced technical skills and/or innovative solutions has the nominee used to support his/her district’s technology goals?
