"Cracker Barrels" for Elementary Principals’ Monthly Seminar 

This school year the Merrimack Education Center will restore a very successful program from our past — the opportunity for area elementary school principals to meet monthly on a variety of topics important to school leadership. Although the choice of seminar topics will be determined by the group, preliminary topics include the following:

  • Standards-based classroom: the principal’s role
  • Remaining current in the curriculum
  • Effective hiring practices
  • MCAS — academic achievement strategies
  • Scheduling
  • Motivating teachers
  • Motivating students
  • Special Education: balancing need and school capacity
  • Working effectively with your assistant principal: Developing the leadership team
Principals will also have the opportunity to exchange ideas with their colleagues.

Participants:    10-15
Location:    40 Linnell Circle, Billerica
1st date: Wednesday, September 26, 2007
Other dates to be determined at first session.
Time:    8:30am to 10:30am
Cost:    $600.00 for year
Continental Breakfast will be served.

PDPs will be awarded.
