The Merrimack Education Center will offer our “Cracker Barrel” Sessions for the 2007-08 school year.
In this support program for assistant principals, we will cover various topics:
- Standards-based classroom: assistant principal’s role
- School Law: the basics
- Discipline/Behavior Management: approaches that work
- Motivating teachers: strategies
- Motivating students: strategies
- Special Education: balancing need and school capacity
- The 504: what is allowed?
- Professional Development: the assistant principal’s role
- Growing as an assistant principal
- Understanding the school psychologist’s SPED report: assessment, analysis, determination of need
- Assistant principal’s role in support services for students (academic and behavioral) and staff
- Sharing of documents
The assistant principals will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with their colleagues and hear from practicing school administrators on these topics.

Continental Breakfast will be served for morning sessions.
Coffee and cookies will be served for afternoon sessions.
PDPs will be awarded.
