The Northeast Consortium for Staff Development Presents:
Bullying: Intervention and Prevention in Our Schools
Peggy Schleicher, M.Ed
Ask school-aged kids if there is bullying and meanness happening at their schools, and the answer will be a strong “yes!” Bullying is pervasive in our culture. It negatively impacts academic learning and healthy social-emotional development. Today’s bullying is not “your mother’s variety”. Girls are now especially impacted by a culture of meanness that is growing in the “girl world.” Relational aggression is an increasing problem in our elementary and middle schools. Bullying takes new forms in today’s cyber, electronic environment. Kids need help to deal with bullying. Be a part of the solution. This workshop is designed to actively explore bullying so that educators can better deal with school bullying.
